Globally recognised drug-discovery leader
Dr David Brown is an internationally recognised drug discoverer, pharmaceutical leader and biotechnology entrepreneur with more than 50 years of experience in medical research, drug development and company building. His career has included senior scientific and executive roles at ICI Pharmaceuticals/Zeneca, Pfizer, GlaxoWellcome and Hoffmann-La Roche.
He also served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Cellzome AG. Today, Dr Brown brings this depth of pharmaceutical experience to T-Booster as an independent scientific and strategic adviser.
02 · Medicines that changed lives
A career defined by medicines that changed lives
While working at Pfizer, Dr Brown was named as a co-inventor on the patent for Viagra and led the programme for approximately eight years, helping advance the discovery from its early scientific foundations to proof of clinical efficacy in humans.
He also contributed to the discovery and development of Relpax, while Revatio emerged from the wider programme led by his team.
At Hoffmann-La Roche in Switzerland, Dr Brown served as a company director and Global Head of Drug Discovery. He held responsibility for the scientific productivity of more than 2,000 researchers across five major research locations in the United States, Europe and Asia.
03 · Artificial intelligence
Combining scientific judgement with artificial intelligence
Dr Brown has helped establish and develop several biotechnology companies, including Crescendo Biologics and Healx.
He co-founded Healx with Dr Tim Guilliams to explore how artificial intelligence, biological data and deep pharmacological expertise could accelerate the discovery of treatments for rare diseases.

Independent scientific, strategic and commercial guidance.
Since 2022, Dr Brown has worked closely with Dr Md Arif Sheikh and the Avix Pharmaceuticals team, providing independent scientific, strategic and commercial guidance across the development of T-Booster and the wider innovation platform.
